City or urban living can be, or is very stressful. The noise, traffic, heat and everything discomforting about it affects us a lot. This is why occasional getaways have become necessary. So here is the thing, like me, I am pretty sure you sometimes wonder what it’ll feel like to be in a place that offers a blend of nature and modernity. If you agree, then The Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort is one such place. It is located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Senchi is a town on the Kpong-Akosombo route, 83.2 kilometers from Accra.

My experience with Senchi was breathtaking. I couldn’t help but love the calm and serene environment which accommodates nature as much as modernity. It felt like a different world on its own with Phoenix, rabbits and geese all around

During the day, the grass and trees beautifies the community and at night the lights do same.

The Dua Club House which literary means the tree club house. This is a club house around and on a tree.

The Pool which is frequently cleaned has a stationed guard looking out for guests, especially those of us who can’t swim to save our lives. In the same enclave as the pool is the reception; where guest are served juice while checking in; the restaurant with an excellent service coupled with a dedicated manager who is always around taking feedback on their services; the Nsu bar and state of the art gym.

The riverside. This is my favourite place to be. The trees on the other side beautifies the river with their reflection. It’s a good place to take beautiful photos. There are ferries and boats you can use to go on a ride on a river.

The rooms. The River view rooms and suite are the best you can get. I love the blend in traditional and exotic architecture. They look like huts on the outside. Inside, they look beautifully decorated with traditional/modern furniture and decor. I figured they are River View because in the balcony of very room you can see the river.

There are also facilities for long and table tennis, golf as well as playing grounds for children. Oh, and just in case you feel like flying there, helipad awaits you.

The last place I cannot forget is the vintage car ground. Do you love cars? When was the last time or where was the last place you saw some vintage cars. The Royal Senchi is your best place to see and admire some 18^th and 19^th century vintage cars. From Ford Mustang to Jaguar to Jeep to Volkswagen to Porsche to Benz. Just name them.

The Royal Senchi for me is one place you cannot cross out when looking for a place to have a relaxing family vacation for some few days or just a picnic. However don’t forget to look up their website and draw a good budget. It is expensive but worth a stay.
